I'm nearly at the end of my visit here in Ridgeway.  I've really enjoyed it, got a lot of stitching done on four different pieces, lots of sleeping and lots to eat.  What more could anyone ask for.  My grandaughter is coming to get me tomorrow and back to London.  There it will be lots of stitching, lots of sleeping and not so much to eat because I'm going to start Weight Watchers online.  I will miss my sister and niece though.  Did anyone feel that earthquake yesterday?  We didn't feel it hear but my daughter in St. Catharines felt the building shake.  A little scary isn't it.  Better hurry up and finish all those UFO's.

It'll be nice to be home and back in my own little rut.  Maybe I'll even come up with something interesting to  put in my blog, like finishing one piece or another.    Have a  happy day!

Well, the birth sampler won.  I got two whole rows done, and only had to undo one half of one of them because I had one motif 7 threads away instead of 8.  No matter, it's all frogged and ready to go again.  Also the nightie won, but I think I just might get dressed to-day.

Here I am in Ridgeway and all set to start my day of stitching.  Should I get dressed first, or stitch in my nightie.  It is a pretty  nightie.  The dinner last night was delicious and the awards ceremony went well.  There were three inductees, Ross Spear (dec'd) who was the 'father of hockey' in Fort Erie for many years; A baseball team which won many trophies during the 1970's, and my son Gary Pooler who was rewarded for his active interest and participation in many sports ever since high school. track, football, and the Iron Man in Hawaii.  I was really proud to see his picture on the Wall, as were my other kids, friends and relatives who attended.

Now to get on to the serious business of my visit.  I think I'll start with the birth sampler, can't go too far because I don't have the white silk ribbon yet for the roses, but there are plenty more to work on while I'm waiting.  The front porch is waiting so here I go.

Another beautiful day, and I'm off to Ridgeway/Fort Erie this afternoon.  This evening my son's name will be added to the Fort Erie Sports Wall of Fame, and the dinner and ceremony is tonight.  Then I proceed to my sister's to spend a week with her and my niece (a week of stitching, how great is that).  The biggest bonus is that I don't have to drive, I'm being transported by family.  So all is good.

 I've started the birth sampler for my granddaughter and it's going very well.  If I ever learn how to post pictures I will do so with all my current and active UFO's.  The inactive ones are still under the bed, or wherever they've been for the past 25 years or so.

 Three of us London stitchers met last night at the home of one of them and stitched until close to midnight.  My family is going to start wondering where grandma goes until the small hours of the morning, but I'll keep them guessing.

I hope everyone has as good a week as I intend to.

First of all to-day, thank you all, Stitching Sisters, for your kind words of comfort.  It's a good feeling to know that I have so many new friends who keep me in their thoughts.  My nephew sent me a copy of the order of service for my dear sister's memorial service which of course brought a few tears but many more smiles remembering the good times we had together over the past fifteen years, when we were able to make the trips which we couldn't do in the past.   She was a very sweet person, and the memories will last.

I've been diligently working on Summer Ball and have got quite a bit done (for me, who doesn't stitch very fast)  I'm so far along that I'm thinking it might be time to reward myself by starting another piece, which will be a birth sampler for the baby which is due next Feb.  It will take me until then to finish it, there's ribbon roses, hardanger, specialty stitches - actually, once I get past the roses and  hardanger it shouldn't be too bad and for me it is a challenge.

The seniors' group I belong to was here for a barbecue on Thursday and for a special treat our choir director came, with two members who play violins, and entertained us.  He has a magnificent operatic voice and I'm sure the whole neighbourhood enjoyed it.

Today I'm back to stitching, and listened to recorded books, my favorite occupation.  Other than that, all is quiet here, the pool still isn't warm enough for me, but OOTDS is great.  I love to read all your blogs, keep 'em coming.

June 6 already.  Where does it go?  This morning I got up full of good intentions to go to church, then I looked at the clock and it's 9:20, church starts at 10:00.  Looks like I have to fill my morning with stitching..  I'm up to part 10 of the How does your gardon Grow SAL, only two more to go, and I'll try to post it.  Happy day, then I can fly with Summer Ball which is straight cross stitch without any specialty stitches.

Life is good.  I'm going to visit my sister in Ridgeway/Fort Erie on June 18, for a week.  Then sometime in July to my cousin in Keswick, and later to see my niece in Connecticut.  At least, that is the present plan, who knows??  But I'm looking forward to it all.  I might take a bus for the Connecticut trip, since I'm not a big fan of airplanes, but it is a 19 hour bus trip, so maybe I should smarten up and fly (if the fare's not tooooo much)  They're all places where I can just sit and stitch if I want, or read, or whatever.

I have another great grandchild in the works.  Remember the mean old granddaughter who made me miss the February retreat just to go to her wedding in Edmonton.  Well!  now she's planning a baby in February next year.  I'm not missing another retreat, great grandmothers are not necessary at births, but I will have to start stitching something or other for the new little one.  There's one due in September too, so that will make 8.  (I'm not really a grouchy old lady, I'm really happy for her.)

June 3

I've finally unpacked, and things are back in order in my nest. However, I can't find my phone charger, so there must be another bag to unpack somewhere. I've even got around to trying to pretty up my blog. I have managed to get the side bars in, but I also have the gobbledegook which I had to copy in order to get it it, showing up on my blog page. I can't figure out how to remove it. Highlight and delete, doesn't work, backspace doesn't work, has anyone any suggestions.

I've got a lot done on my How does your Garden Grow SAL in the past couple of days, maybe soon I'll learn how to past pictures. Summer Ball remains in the same condition as it was at Brentwood.

We've had a lot of rain to-day, like everyone, but right now the sun is shining even though the clouds are still there. Well this is a pretty boring blog, but I'm just a beginner, and I live a pretty boring life, except for stitching.
